I admit. Prior to hearing about SEO products and site optimization field, I thought Google was great. I Used Google to look for everything from celebrities, to visuals, to articles to weird things and heedlessly trusted the findings. Then I found out about SEO products and an entire business centered on site promotion, and my attitudes changed. But even before my revelation, after doing some reflective musings, I got a hunch that search engines, Google to boot, know far from everything, and pass on to the users even less than what they know.

My Google experiences soon persuaded me that Flikr is a better image data bank, that with the help of feeds I can have quality news coverage without having to rummage through Google search retrieval (rummaging is more descriptive than Google search), and people search is better handled by Facebook. It seems that whenever I search for weird gadgets on Google, the results are often messy, to put it kindly. Try searching for SEO programs and other SEO related topics on Google and you are just about ready to surrender your sanity. I mean, tell me, what’s the relationship between SEO tools and career webpages or Web casinos? It happens in my disappointment.

So when news of seo software review and the entire field revolving around it invaded my modest worldview, my qualms about websites popping up on page one of Google increased virally. Do they merit to show up on there and whose fault is it, Google or site promoters using SEO applications. The ethical quandary is huge. Do I seize using my SEO keyword ranking tool or do I stop using Google instead? I concluded that I can’t renounce myself from Google just yet. At least not till the worthy rival enters the picture. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep playing with my SEO programs.

Truth is that SEO products is the reason why people like me get some visibility online. Sophisticated as they are, search engine search algos are unlikely to find some random person and index his domain highly. In this regard, I am a firm fan of SEO programs and organic search. If it was all about the paid search, the corporate giants would destroy me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of corporations on the Fortune list! But here is another thing that irks me and other backlinks checker users, I am certain. There are individuals who invest in SEO apps and use them to sell shoeson career sites and such. What we have is junk that not only exists on the Internet but is also highly indexed by Google.

What is the user reaction to this? They search for SEO product reviews and will instead find irrelevant content. They get disappointed. So much for the “Internet equality”. Does this mean that SEO product and service industry is bad? Not necessarily.

The unethical users of SEO tools need to stop corrupting the Web but it’s like asking hackers to stop cracking the code. The unfortunate thing about it is that black hat SEOs are abusing the prospect to be seen on the Web that is given to the little person like me. For now users just have to live with them. We can only hope that Google will put more effort into finding the schemers unethically using SEO tools, and if Google doesn’t, the future search engine will.
